GlobalSat is one of the more active satellite receiver manufacturing companies. One day we announced the agreement with Ricoh, for the implementation of a GPS receiver in Cf BC-337 - a camera: this product allows the user to return to the exact position in which the photo was taken. It also records the time and date of each shot.
The Taiwanese company has introduced three new solutions, one of which on a Secure Digital platform, and a complete PNA of cartography.
Present at CeBIT every year, Globalsat this time has introduced a innovation that does not regard assisted navigation but music. The BTA-809 is a Bluetooth Audio Stereo Gateway that is dedicated only to iPod pairing. Inserted in the player it transmits sound up to ten meters to earpieces using the same protocol. As expected it supports an A2DP profile.
The BTA-809 features:
- Plug-and-Play compatibility with iPod, - 3G/4G/5G/Mini Bluetooth 1.2, Class 2, - standby power-save mode after 10 minutes of inactivity, - lithium polymer battery with integrated meter indicating remaining charge, lasts up to 5 hours. - Dimensions: 61.8mm x 24.5mm x 15mm.
It also comes with a base. Under development is a successor of the BTA-809 which is still lacking a classification and name however it is smaller and has a trendy appearance.
The only information available is the chipset used: naturally one SiRF Star III, the workhorse of GlobalSat’s GPS receiver products.
From GlobalSat product report in Italian version, there are two new GPS products: a ' wired', and a system standalone.
