BT-328: New Stylish Bluetooth GPS Receiver

The BT-328 is the newest Bluetooth GPS from GlobalSat.  Built with the latest GSC2 low power technology, it combines performance with low cost creating an affordable entry level BT GPS.  Compatible with any Bluetooth compliant serial interface device, it can provide accurate GPS position information for up to 16 hours continuously.

Not only is the BT-328 functional, it is stylish as well.  Our engineers have combined technology with design and produced one of the most attractive and useable GPS devices on the market today.See our reviews below:

“The new Globalsat GPS BT-328 is of course comparable to the BT-338.  However the BT-328 is smaller, therefore more portable.   It also has a stand-by mode to save power, hence battery life.  Lastly, the BT-328 has improved signal reception..”

“In the tests that we have done it seems confirmed that it is a more sensible choice than the old "ST", most notably the newer XT2 does not suffer "trips ghost".  Although it does not feature a SiRFIII chipset, its ability to fix satellites suggests that it performs such that is does have an SiRFIII chipset.”

“Compared to other GPS units I have tried, this BT-328 is a real dream to use. Very simple to operate, very fast connect rate, long battery life, and sleek design, The unit will take upwards of 2 - 3 hours to fully recharge.”

"I don't really have anything to complain about, only thing is that I wish it was a little faster starting up and getting a connection but that is a problem with all GPS systems so it's just not this. Overall it was very nice and stable though, the battery time was awesome as the 16 hours are accurate acording to the specifications. I don't think there is much more to say and I want to give this 5 out of 5 for an awesome little GPS unit that works very good with your laptop or PDA for example."

“The Globalsat BT-328 is a great low-powered Bluetooth GPS solution with pricing that is affordable. The BT-328 can be found for about $75, well under the $100 price tag that always deterred me from getting a Bluetooth GPS. Combine with the incredible battery life and good performance, I feel the BT-328 is a good GPS for anyone wanting to add active mapping functionality to their device.”

"Even though the BT-328 had a hard time in the steel canyons of New York City, I've been more than mildly impressed with its capabilities. The cold boot lock times are so fast, I sometimes have to look twice before I believe it. Yes, it doesn't come with a software package, but the unit price is so inexpensive, and it is compatible with just about every title available, that it didn't make a bit of difference. If you still don't have a Bluetooth GPS at this point in your PDA life, I would make this a strong recommendation.. "

 reviewed in German:
"In use the Globalsat BT-328 lasted for 14 hours after the first charge.  With further charge cycles it will come close to the 16 hours quoted...   The GPS also has an intelligent power saving facility switching off after 10 minutes without a connection."

 reviewed in English:
"From what I could see, this unit consistently reported our current actual position and made no attempt to second guess ahead, so this unit would really appear to be GlobalSat’s attempt to offer something similar to the BT338 but with a slightly cheaper price tag."

"It is small, beautiful, sensitive, practical and functional.  This GPS receiver is excellent when used in a car, if you forget to turn it off it will automatically swicth off and not drain the battery.  We strongly recommend this product to you."

 reviewed in English:
"The GlobalSat BT-328 Bluetooth GPS is an excellent budget GPS receiver which under most situations performs equally as well as SiRF III devices. There is little to fault the device, which has performed reliably throughout all my testing."

 reviewed in French:
"Globalsat leaves a legacy and at the same time a powerful and accessible product for tight small wallets, because one already finds it on the site of the importer “Bluetrade” in the neighborhood of 80 Euros including all taxes.  Thanks to the applicable tariff policy, the GPS is no longer reserved for the elite."

  reviewed in English:
"The GlobalSat BT-328's excellent feature set and affordable price offers something for everyone. If you've been sitting on the fence deciding whether GPS is worth your time and money, the BT-328 may be enough to tip you over the edge."

reviewed in English:
"The entire 10.5 hours the unit was in use I did not lose the GPS satellites once. It actually had a satellite signal lock the entire time. That was pretty unexpected because I have probably grown accustom to the wired USB GPS chips instability. But now, the BT-328 has convinced me to give up my wired USB GPS for good. Once you go traveling with a GlobalSat Bluetooth GPS, you will wonder how you ever got along without it."

"
Globalsat's BT-328 is intended as a low entry GPS solution, offering good performance at an affordable price. The new design of the Globalsat products is very appealing and eye catching. With a weight of only 65gr, it is so light that you can forget that you are carrying it with you."

reviewed in English:
"Of course it’s small and stylish, but how does it perform? The first time it took a while to get its fix, but after that the reception was constant and the fix was quickly back after turning it off and on. On my daily (sometimes very long) trips I always had a minimum of 8 satellites, which is very good, even during cloudy days.  While driving in a tunnel you will lose your fix, but after exiting the tunnel you will get your fix back almost immediately."

  reviewed in English:
"This is a good inexpensive solution in a wide variety of applications. In particular it is suited for automotive navigation and outdoor applications where rain or water isn't a factor. It can be placed in a zip lock bag if you need it to be waterproof. I found it maintained a lock under many conditions where other units would fail. I did not see any significant problems with drift even under difficult reception conditions. "
