GlobalSat will demonstrate 15 LoRaWAN-based Sensors at Embedded World

GlobalSat Worldcom Corp (GlobalSat), one of the leading Semtech LoRa Technology adaptors, has delivered a module based on the LoRaWAN™ protocol, LM-130, and M.O.S.T. proprietary RF protocol module, LM-230, to customers to design in their end-node devices and applications. Many of GlobalSat’s customers have successfully completed designs by using LM-130/LM-230 and correspondent development utilities. In order to celebrate the partnership with customers, GlobalSat will demonstrate 15 types of End-node devices at Embedded World (Booth: 3-637, Mar 14~16, Nuremberg, Germany), either by their partners or in-house designs. These End-node products include:
  • Air quality sensor, including CO, CO2, PM2.5 detection, by AECL

  • Magnetic roadside parking vehicle detector and services, by Microprogram

  • Smart agriculture and litigation integrated solutions, by Vinduino

  • Smart building/home sensing and control system, by ARBOR

  • Phase-power metering and control unit, by Awiselink

  • Motor and machinery vibration detection sensor, by Shinkong

  • Multiple sensor I/O box, by viWave & Liyatech

  • GPS tracking solution, by GlobalSat

  • GPS tracking solution, by GlobalSat

  • Passive infrared movement detection, by GlobalSat & Yosun

  • Water leakage detection unit, by GlobalSat

  • “GlobalSat engaged Semtech’s LoRa Technology at early stage of our development and has now rolled out a LoRa-equipped module for both the standardized LoRaWAN protocol and our own proprietary protocol. The module has been certified by LoRa Alliance™ and obtained FCC/ETSI/TELEC qualification. We also provide evaluation and development tools/utilities to assist
customers with their deployment process,” said Alpha Tsai, EVP of GlobalSat New Business. “The showcase at Embedded World demonstrates some fruitful outcomes from working with Semtech. We are glad to promote these designs to the IoT ecosystem using LoRa Technology.”
In order to further simplify the design process and efforts, GlobalSat will deliver an integrated module LM-130H1 which contains both LoRaWAN and M.O.S.T. firmware in single unit. The relevant firmware is activated by hardware switch or firmware command. Customers can share the same hardware design for both use cases and keep a single module as inventory. By using LM-130H1, customers can start from small-scale M.O.S.T. private system, then easily move to LoRaWAN for scalability and popularity.. LM-130H1 is fully compatible to LM-130, while LM-230 stays as M.O.S.T.-only module.
“GlobalSat’s showcase of LoRa-equipped products at Embedded World demonstrates the diverse range of IoT applications enabled by Semtech’s LoRa Technology,” said Mike Wong, Vice President of Marketing for Semtech’s Wireless and Sensing Products Group. “By offering modules that feature LoRa Technology, GlobalSat is giving customers the tools to deploy IoT solutions that use data to more intelligently monitor buildings, cities, pollution, assets, water levels, and more.”
Please contact us for the availability and contacts of above End-node solutions. If you are interested to integrate LoRa Technology with your devices, we are glad to work with you as well.
